Hello. On April 29, SDT successfully held the ‘Quantum Computing In Finance Forum’ at Voco in Gangnam, Seoul.

This forum was hosted by SDT and co-organized by the Future Quantum Convergence Forum, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), and Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA). It was a place to explore the potential convergence between the financial industry and quantum technology and to discuss practical application measures.

Exploring the Intersection of Quantum Technology and the Financial Industry

This forum aimed to diagnose the changes that quantum computing technology will bring to the domestic financial industry and to specify future directions through global case studies.
SDT led the overall planning and operation of the event, focusing on illuminating the practical possibilities of introducing quantum technology in the financial industry as a technology company.

Participation of Major Domestic and International Institutions… High Interest and Expertise Confirmed

The forum featured speakers from various prominent financial institutions and research organizations both domestically and internationally.
Organizations from diverse fields, including JP Morgan Chase, HSBC, Deloitte, QCentroid, Opetek, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), and Yonsei University, participated, making it a meaningful time for sharing technical depth and insights from the industry scene.

SDT also actively participated in the operation of major sessions and technical discussions, sharing specifically about not only the perspective of technology providers but also the practical connection possibilities with the industry.

The forum presented the following key topics:

• Quantum Leap in Finance: Discovering Financial Services and Early Opportunities through Innovation and Successful Integration

• Creating Practical Value through Quantum and Quantum-Based Technologies

• Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA): Solving Complex Problems in the Financial Sector

Through these sessions, practical discussions were held on how quantum computing can be utilized in key areas of finance such as portfolio optimization, risk assessment, and fraud detection.

SDT’s Role and Future Direction

SDT reaffirmed its role as a platform and technology provider that accelerates the introduction of quantum technology in the industry through this forum.
In particular, it solidified its direction to serve as a technological bridge for domestic financial institutions to secure global competitiveness through quantum computing.
