“A New Paradigm of Security and Surveillance in the Defense Sector Realized through Quantum Technology”
SDT, a specialized company in quantum standards technology (CEO Yoon Ji-won), will participate in the representative defense industry exhibition of South Korea, ‘DX KOREA 2024’, held at KINTEX in Ilsan from September 25 (Wednesday) to 28 (Saturday), showcasing its quantum-based camera solutions that will innovate information security and surveillance in the defense sector.
Having led commercialization in various application fields based on quantum technology, SDT will directly introduce its Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) and Quantum Dot technology-based domestic quantum-based security and sensing camera at this exhibition.
This is expected to be an opportunity to confirm the practical applicability in defense security environments.
Hacking Prevention with the QRNG Security Camera 'NodeV' Developed with Domestic Technology
The QRNG camera 'NodeV', developed by SDT using its own technology, applies quantum random number generation technology to the entire process from image generation to transmission, effectively preventing security threats such as hacking, eavesdropping, and video leaks with a state-of-the-art quantum encryption IP camera.
As numerous cases of suspected hacking of military surveillance cameras arise, leading to national security crises like CCTV withdrawal, the QRNG camera generates physically unpredictable random numbers in real time, providing a complete security system that is not disabled even in a quantum computer environment.
In particular, it presents a solution optimized for environments requiring the highest level of security, such as defense and intelligence agencies, through its real-time analysis capability without reliance on a central server, domestic technology-based backdoor-free design, and pure random number generation engine based on dark current noise.
Strong Surveillance Capability Even in Severe Conditions, Quantum Dot-Based SWIR Camera
The Quantum Dot SWIR camera, also showcased, utilizes Quantum Dot technology, which won the 2023 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, to detect a wide range of wavelengths (400~1700nm), making it a high-performance vision sensing device with reasonable costs and improved wavelength transparency compared to existing InGaAs (Indium Gallium Arsenide) sensor-based cameras, featuring a compact and lightweight design and is evaluated as an equipment optimized for all-weather reconnaissance and surveillance operations.
Maintaining excellent surveillance performance even under low visibility conditions such as smoke, darkness, and inclement weather, it can be widely applied not only for reconnaissance but also in various industries including life sciences, communications, and agriculture.

Defense and security are areas that require continuous technological evolution to respond to cyber threats and information breaches. The QRNG camera and Quantum Dot SWIR camera showcased at DX KOREA 2024 will serve as a next-generation strategic technology solution that dramatically enhances security and surveillance capabilities and will play a central role in not only defense security but also the protection of critical national infrastructure.
DX KOREA is South Korea's representative defense exhibition, where domestic and international defense industry officials, military personnel, research institutions, and buyers participate, serving as a platform to observe cutting-edge defense technology and strategies at a glance.
